Submission Process

Submission Step 1: Presenting Author

Presenting Author
  • An abstract must include one presenting author, and the first author should be designated as the presenting author.
  • If the submitter is the presenting author, your sign up information will be reflected in the presenting author’s information.
  • If the submitter is different from the presenting author, please fill out the presenting author’s information.
  • The presenting author may also be designated as the corresponding author.

Submission Step 2: Add Author(s)

Authors
  • A maximum of 50 authors can be listed.
  • A maximum of 2 affiliations (institutions) per author is allowed.
  • The order of the authors and the name of the presenting author can be edited during the submission process.
  • The corresponding author is the one individual who takes primary responsibility for communication with the abstract. The presenting author can be referred as the corresponding author.
  • Assigning the corresponding author is optional.

Submission Step 3: Abstract Details

Abstract Title
  • In the title, please use capital letters only where necessary.
  • The title is limited to 75 words.
Abstract Body
  • The abstract body can be written either as a structured abstract (Background, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusion) or in a single paragraph.
  • Definition:
    - Structured Abstract: Summary description of study/research set out in a systematic, stylized form under headings.
    - Single Paragraph: An abstract typed in single paragraph without stylized headings.
  • The abstract body is limited to 300 words.
  • Figures and tables are not allowed.
  • Abstracts should be data-driven and must include this information in the body of the abstract.

Submission Step 4: Scientific Awards & Travel Grants

We are proud to be able to offer travel grants and award opportunities.

Travel Grants

Abstract presenting authors meeting the below requirements may be considered for travel grants. To be eligible for the travel grants, applicants must:

  • Be listed as the presenting author of an abstract submitted for WFNOS 2022
  • Be under 40 years old and based in a low income or lower middle income country according to the World Bank report.
  • *The maximum amount awarded per person is USD 1,000. Travel grant does not include the registration fees.

Please acknowledge your willingness to apply for the travel grants during the abstract submission process. The winners will be contacted via email.

Best Abstract Award

All presenting authors of an accepted oral presentation will be eligible for nomination for this award. The winners of this award will receive USD 500 and the chance to present their abstracts at the Top 10 session.

To compete for this award, applicants must:

  • Be the presenting author of an accepted oral presentation abstract for WFNOS 2022
  • Complete their pre-registration and be present at the WFNOS 2022.

The winners will be contacted via email.

Best Poster Award

All poster authors will be eligible for nomination for this award. Each day of the meeting, authors of 10 posters will be selected as Best Poster Award winners. Posters will be judged on the relevance, novelty and quality of their content and presentation. The winners of this award will receive a certificate and a prize.

To compete for this award, applicants must:

  • Be the presenting author of an accepted poster abstract for WFNOS 2022
  • Complete their pre-registration and be present at the WFNOS 2022.

The winners will be announced publicly every day during the meeting period.

*The WFNOS 2022 Travel Grant & Scientific Award regulations listed above may be adjusted in the event of meeting format change (offline face-to-face meeting to an online/offline hybrid meeting)

Submission Step 5: Review & Complete

  • A confirmation letter of the abstract will be automatically sent to the submitter and the presenting author by e-mail upon the on-line submission.
  • You can access your abstract any time by visiting ‘My Page’ on the website and modify/review your abstract.
  • After September 27 (Mon), 2021, you will not be able to modify the submitted abstract.
  • An acceptance notice will be sent out to the submitter, presenting author and corresponding author on mid-November, 2021 via email.
  • Upon acceptance of the abstract, presenting authors are expected to register and to present their abstracts.
  • Due to limited number of scientific session, specifying an "Oral Presentation" preference does not guarantee placement in scientific session. If your accepted free paper abstract is not selected for oral presentation, it can be considered for poster presentation. By checking "Poster Only", your abstract will only be considered for poster presentation.
